British Airways, Delta and Virgin Atlantic offer direct flights to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). Key airlines that provide connecting flights are Lufthansa, KLM, Air France, Swiss International among others. It takes around 9-10 hours from London to Seattle if you are taking a nonstop flight. Seattle’s airport is one of the easiest to navigate in the States and it’s only 20–30 minutes from downtown. Only London Heathrow (LHR) provides consistent direct service. Seattle flights and hotels are cheaper but expect grey skies and drizzle. Booking 2–3 months in advance and flying midweek can save you hundreds. Direct flights tend to be pricier but more convenient. Off-peak months like February, March and November usually offer cheap flight tickets to Seattle.
Seattle is 8 hours behind the UK, so give yourself a day or two to adjust. SEA airport is efficient and closely linked. Take the Link light rail straight into the city for just a few dollars.
